The Raiders defensive staff has slowly but surely been filling out since they hired their defensive coordinator last week. That new coach is Terrell Williams who will take over as the team's new defensive line coach according to a report. And he is another coach with links to Head Coach Dennis Allen.

The Oakland Raiders have added two more assistants to the 2012 coaching staff, assistant special teams coach Keith Burns and linebackers coach Johnny Holland.

A year after Raiders corner Stanford Routt received a sizable contract to the tune of five years, $54.5 million with $20 million guaranteed, he has been released.

While the defensive staff of new defensive coordinator Jason Tarver are still to be hired, the team continues to fill out its offensive staff. The two "new" additions are not so new to the Raiders.

It is certainly a "new day" in Oakland, as head coach Dennis Allen pointed out in his press conference. The latest development comes in the form of new defensive coordinator Jason Tarver. And with his arrival, the Raiders look to be in for a new defensive scheme.

After weeks of getting turned down for interview requests from NFL teams, the Raiders turned to the college ranks to find their new defensive coordinator.  He is Jason Tarver, former defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach for the Stanford Cardinal.

Time will tell how quickly the Raiders are able to regain national prominence as one of the best teams in the league and are able to make it to the Super Bowl.  But it is equally possibly the Super Bowl could come to them.  This week, all eyes have turned to Indianapolis for Super Bowl XLVI.  Indianapolis was given the opportunity to host by way of a new stadium initiative that started years ago.
