According to NFL reporter Adam Caplan, tomorrow at 4pm Wimbley's contract calls for a bonus if he is still on the team.
This bonus is seperate than the guaranteed money that Wimbley will get if he's still on the team after Saturday, March 17th.
If Wimbley's contract does, in fact, call for a bonus for being on the team tomorrow, expect some action with him earlier in the day.
As there have been absolutely no leaks that the two sides are talking it would be a surprise if he remained a Raider. Therefore, it's likely that he will be cut tomorrow.
As a vested veteran, he will not be subject to waivers and will immediately be a free agent. He will be able to be paid whatever his new contract calls for plus $6.5 million from the Raiders that was guaranteed in the contract he signed last year.

Yes he is! Another over paid under achiever on his way out. I am liking what McKenzie is doing.
@Black_Nightmare that is one funny post!
@dondiraider doubt it... he's going to take his 6.5 and go sign for 3.5 this year somewhere else. wouldn't you?
PS where's Lofton going to land? is it a pipe dream that the raiders would land him? it can happen and Reggie would still have cap room left.
@nilbymouth Totally. He's doing a nice job. Many guys here are disapointed cause it really seems this year we won't contend (and I can't blame them for being upset), but this seems like the foundation of a long time great franchise.
@Harder2000 @nilbymouth I agree this is hard to be seen. And as i said, I totally understand a lot of guys being just upset because of it. Now, something that should relieve some pain from our tormented souls is that they are getting mostly our fat: Stanford Routt is a talented CB, but he's a troublemaker, they just got the player who got the most penalties last season (and that includes James Harrison and Ndamukong Suh). If they are taking Tony Moeaki out of the game even for a couple of plays and playing Kevin Boss instead, I will be so grateful with Crennel, that's not a substitution but a total downgrade.
It stings to see Rock Cartwright go across the bay, that is the one i didn't want to happen...
So yeah, many some of those players might eventually come and haunt us, but I find it highly unlikely.
@Black_Nightmare @nilbymouth There is no doubt that establishing the future of the franchise in order to create a dynasty requires a solid base that can develop together in the future! And it seems that this is the way that Reggie is trying to take us, which is a positive imo.
And as this springcleaning is a thorough one that leaves serious dead money on the cap, it makes sense that we will not go for a win now approach as we have done every year in the past!
... But no matter how much reason it makes, and how needed it is, it is still hard to see our division rivals improving (especially KC who are in contact with several potentially great additions) while we keep cutting the fat!
Looking forward to seeing what kind of players Reggie will get in FA and go for in the draft, as we will surely be signing someone after the initial rush has concluded!
@Indy! @DARKKUSH @dondiraider My only concern about those jerks is that they seem to be putting together a legit Offensive Line. I mean even with Matt Cassel behind the Center, if they give him enough protection inside the pocket, finding tony Moeaki and Dwayne Bowe isn't rocket science. Now, getting Peyton Hillis who turned to be sissy as a daisy flower and refused to play three games for a sore throat, that won't be a big help for them. They are the only team inside the division that causes me some worries, but they are in the very same spot we are, they won't become relevant for at least 3 more years. (I'd say 2, but they'll take 1 full year to fire Romeo)
@DARKKUSH @dondiraider Take it easy, that team is like a huge toilet and all the talent you put there just gets flushed down. Our team will find the way. It's pretty eraly on march to be worrying about who are we getting for the next season, it's just we're not used to it. But look at GB and Pittsburgh an Baltimore and NE, all the good teams are taking this very same aproach
@Black_Nightmare @dondiraider yea i love to preach about it ... as always. i just read he has an offer on the table from the Bucs and he's visiting the Saints ... he wants something like 9 mill a year. he's DEF not worth that much.. i'd say 6 a year would cover it. McClain could stand back in the flat way more often and do what he does best in reading QBs ... while Lofton makes the tackle at the LOS ... that's what i envision anyway. but yea, probably not going to happen. we're going to get players who's demands will be cut in half down the road.
i really want to see Myers signed. if the raiders are letting Satele go, why the F not? the kid is a stud... but again, if his asking price goes down... then he'll get looked at by Reggie. Both Bartell and Breisiel come cheap, that's why they're "Visiting" ... sign the guys already and get on with it!
