The Raiders have signed former Bengals safety Chinedum Ndukwe who worked out for the team early Monday. The team will likely release one of the current safeties from the roster to make room for him.
Ndukwe played for the Bengals for four seasons after they chose him in round seven of the 2007 NFL draft out of Notre Dame.
Ndukwe made an immediate impact by playing in 14 games and starting two in place of an injured Dexter Jackson at strong safety. He finished the season with 35 tackles, two sacks, three interceptions, six pass deflections, a fumble recovery that he returned for a touchdown, and one forced fumble.
He has played in 53 games and started 31 over those four seasons. He has 249 combined tackles, 6 interceptions, and 18 passes defended over that time.
In 2008 Ndukwe attended the Harvard Business School, followed by the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 2009 for the NFL Business Management Program.
The signing has not been made official yet by the Raiders. It was released by Ndukwe himself via his Twitter page.

time is def not on our side of things right now...we have exactly No Time to have someone new Jump into Our system as a QB, sure hope Pryor is working his ass off to get ready, something tells me his time will be sooner than later...
though i like this kid's stats. what's his 40 time? Curry's is one of the fastest among linbackers throughout the league, we must keep the philosophy going! seriously though... the speed picks as of late are showing up on sundays...
in need of a QB on the night of the trade deadline, the oakland raiders select: a safety. goodie gum drops. looks like Boller will have scrap specialist Boyman as Boller's back up. sure to be a fun ride indeed. we must include Pryor in on special packages to get his feet wet... and have DMAC do some more wild cat. that's how Hue can "mix things up" and "live on the edge" ... not taking a 3 possession lead at the end of a game needs to cease from happening again.. this much is certain. good QBs like Rivers or even a mediocre Cassel can come back and win that game...
