2011 NFL Mock Draft 2.0: Rounds 1-3
The draft is just over a month away and a lot has happened since my first mock draft. The biggest incident was, of course, the expiring of the CBA and the lockout. But the event that affected the draft most was the scouting combine. The combine gives each pick a chance to show that he has the physical prowess and athletic ability to compete with NFL athletes. Several players moved up and down draft boards based on their performance there.
The draft is going to happen one way or the other. The question will only be if free agency will be allowed to begin prior to the draft. If it does begin, teams will be able to fill some need areas or lose important players and change their draft plans. But as it currently stands, there is no free agency so what teams needed following last season, remains mostly the same.
