No suspension for seymour
Oakland Raiders defensive tackle Richard Seymour was fined $25,000 by the league for his slap of Ben Roethisberger in the second quarter of Sunday's Raiders-Steelers tilt.
The incident went down when Ben Roethlisberger completed a 22 yard touchdown pass to Emmanuel Sanders with 1:30 left in the first half. Following the play Roethlisberger approached Richard Seymour who was jawing with a Steelers' offensive lineman. When Roethlisberger approached, Seymour smaked Roethlisberger upside the head. This triggered a 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty that was offset by a retaliatory hit and his ejection from the game.
There was specuation that in addition to his fine, Seymour would receive a suspension from the league. However, there is no suspension handed down.
Seymour reportedly has apologized to his teammates for letting them down by getting thrown out of the game.
