It is offiicialy a slow news week. The Oakland Raiders have the week off from their organized team activities. They will resume their preparations the following week.
The fans have lined up behind Al Davis's quixotic quest to get JaMarcus Russell to return $9.55 million that he has already received. The optimism that the Raider Nation felt when he was selected first overall with LSU got completely turned inside out.
If the offense falters early, who will become the next scapegoat?
The smart money is on Darren McFadden. He has not come anywhere near being the player that he was expected to become when he was drafted in 2008.
An interesting turn sign of the times when headlines from an offseason work out centered around a top ten wide receiver pick actually caught the ball.
There has been talk that the Raiders will have a joint practice with the Dallas Cowboys before their preseason opener. That used to be a regular occurance.
Other than the selection of Jacoby Ford, it has been a very non-Al Davis offseason.
Hope you all had a safe and fun holiday weekend!
